FIRST AID COURSES

 

Castlemaine District Community Health (CDCH) offers professional training courses in CPR and First Aid. Courses are applicable to new participants or as a re-qualification.  Dates for 2018 are listed below. Our Community Health Nurse is also available for in-workplace training. The courses are nationally accredited and require completion of study and a Workbook test before attending the course. Workbooks will be issued from CDCH upon provision of USI number* and payment for the course.

HLTAID001 - PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)

CPR dates for 2018 correspond with the First Aid courses listed below. There will not be any seperate CPR courses run in 2018, however people may do the CPR component of any of the First Aid courses, from 9.00 - 11.00am.

HLTAID004 - PROVIDE EMERGENCY FIRST AID RESPONSE IN AN EDUCATIONAL & CHILDCARE SETTING (First Aid, asthma & anaphylaxis)

In partnership and under the auspices for Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).

Groups of 15 of larger may arrange to have their own session at a time arranged with the trainer.

Cost - $150 (includes workbooks and certificates)

2018 Dates

HLTAID004 Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Educational & Childcare Setting (first Aid, Asthma & anaphylaxis) dates for 2018 correspond with the HLTAID003 First Aid courses listed above, but from 9am-5pm. There will not be any seperate HLTAID004 Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Educational & Childcare Setting courses scheduled in 2018, however people may complete this course by attending any of the First Aid courses, and staying an extra hour till 5pm. The fee is $150.

10310NAT - ANAPHYLAXIS AWARENESS TRAINING

This 3 hour course is accredited under the RTO Asthma Victoria. Courses are available to childcare facilities, TAFE and primary and secondary schools.

Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of allergic reaction and is potentially life threatening. An anaphylactic episode should be treated as a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment.

22303VIC - SCHOOL ANAPHYLAXIS VERIFIER TRAINING

This 3 hour course is accredited under the RTO Asthma Victoria.

The Department of Education and Training has listed The Asthma Foundation of Victoria as it's preferred provider for the short course 22303VIC Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Autoinjector Devices in Government Schools.

This training is government funded. All Government Schools in Victoria will be able to have two (2) staff members trained through the funding arrangement.

Graduates will have the required skills and knowledge to verify that an individual, who has successfully completed the online modules of the ASCIA Anaphylaxis eTraining for Victorian Schools, can demonstrate correct use of all adrenaline autoinjector devices prescribed in the ASCIA e-training and are currently available in Australia.

Groups of 15 of larger may arrange to have their own session at a time arranged with the trainer.

Cost: No charge - This course is for teachers only (includes workbook and certificates)

21886VIC - ASTHMA TRAINING

This 3 hour course is accredited under the RTO Asthma Victoria. Courses are available to childcare facilities, schools, TAFE and the general public.
